Preventing Diaper Rash
Most parents have experienced at one time or another an unhappy baby with a bout of diaper rash! More often than not diaper rash is caused by trapped moisture. The introduction to solid foods can also bring on redness and chaffed skin.
As a new parent you may wonder how often you need to change your newborn. A newborn baby can have as many as eight to ten poops a day. So yes, this means you should change your newborn 8 to 10 times a day. If your baby hasn’t pooped, he or she can probably go for 2 to 3 hours without needing a diaper change. It’s always best to check your baby’s diaper often. Clean with warm water and a soft cotton ball and apply a zinc-based barrier cream each time to keep diaper rash away. And be mindful to review the ingredients of any barrier cream to ensure it is all-natural, fragrance-free, and made with nut-free ingredients.
